3. Equivocation: Its okay that you finished last , because whoever is last is really first.
4. Slippery Slope: If you graduate from high school then you can move on to college, after college you can move on to a nice job, then after that you can retire and travel.
5. Straw Man: A: African American people deserve reparations. B: Well Mexican people don’t get reparations so why should they?
6. Tu Quoque: My mom tells me to always clean up behind myself after cooking but when she cooks she makes me clean up the mess , so technically she’s a hypocrite.
7. Non-sequiter: I don’t date guys with beards because one time a guy with a beard cut me off when I was driving, so I don’t date guys with beards.
8. False Dichotomy: How often do you smoke, once every week or once every month?
9. Argument from Ignorance: Ive never seen a horse kick someone in real life so thats just something you see in movies.
10. Red Herring: You need a new car, but first you need credit. If you come to my jewelry store I can help pick you out something to start payments on and start your credit.
11. Post Hoc : Every time I think of someone they text me so now I just think of who i want to talk too and wait for them to text me.
12. Division: My store has the highest sells out of all the stores in the country that is because I’m the manager.

Example of valid argument with a false conclusion:

1.African Americans represent 34% of the total correctional population.

2. African American children represent 32% of children arrested

C:This means that African American people are troublemakers

Example of a Sound Argument:

1. African American people and White people use drugs at the same rates,

2. Imprisonment rate for African American people are 6 times higher than white people with the same drug related offense.

C: Justice system is not equal

Example of a weak inductive argument:

1.If you go to college you have a higher chance of getting a high paying job.

2. I am going to college

C: I will get a high paying job

Example of a strong inductive argument:

1.If you maintain a good credit score you will be able to lease property .

2.Having no credit is just as bad as having bad credit.

C: I still haven’t built my credit so I can’t lease a car.
